Finally we had a S&B Meet at Coimbatore as per Raju's desire since long. Unfortunately Chaturvasi could not make it, so it ended up as a B meet.
We met at the Symphony restaurant of The Grand Regent. Though it was planned to have the buffet we ended up ordering a-la-carte.

I am sorry to have missed this. I had actually planned to visit CBE for the meet and then hop to Salem, Karur and Vellore before returning home. But on the day of departure (2nd afternoon) I had to attend to an important and unavoidable errand. I couldn't even cancel the reserved ticket. Later, I got an SMS that the train was delayed by more than two hours.
ReplyDeleteNice, all looking great
ReplyDeleteThanks Col for the time well spent Meeting Raju for the first time
ReplyDeleteAll nice pics. Thanks for sharing them with us, Sir!
ReplyDeleteNice pics!Hope you had belated birthday celebration of Ajeesh.
ReplyDeleteAll we could do was wish him as he is off drinks and non-veg!!!!
DeletePoor Kidu! From the pics you & Raju fully enjoyed with beers!
DeleteNice pics! All looking relaxed:)
ReplyDeleteThanks,Col. Especially for keeping me company for the beer. It was a refreshing start to the afternoon . Maybe, I deprived you of your full stomach by all of us opting out for a-la-carte. But we all enjoyed the convivial company especially Dr Srinivasan and laconic Ajeesh.( He was too preoccupied due to his time-bound work pressure ? Thanks to Dr Srinivasan for having taken the trouble of driving all the way from Salem. Thanks , Dr. for the scrap book well-bound and organized inside of all the articles of Jug Suraiya. It was so thoughtful of you to have brought them along , knowing that I enjoy reading him. Reading his articles can never get dated from his days at the JS. I'll return the same after I'm done with it and take the next one.
ReplyDeleteCol: Being just a foursome, I should have been pleased if you had let me foot the bill and be my guest in CBE. Next time, you will not insist on going Dutch and I deferred to your convention for such meets.
All in all, a very pleasant get-together and an afternoon well spent. and yeah, you spoke more than you would normally!!
CV: A pity we missed you and your lively presence! Better luck , next time.
Thanks to all other fellow- bloggers for their commen(T)dation.
The Col has agreed for a good and grand get together of ALL of us for out tenth anniversary of the blog. I can hardly wait.
Thanks Raju for a very descriptive account. Most times your accounts, though garrulous, is worth every letter!
DeleteSorry, Ajeesh, I forgot to thank you for the lift back home in the OLA. I tried to call you but evidently, you had already gone to discharge your much-earned sleep- debt ! The takeaway of the Chinese food got left behind in the taxi. Hopefully, the driver boy will have a good treat !
