An impromptu S&B gathering at Bangalore on 16 Nov 2014

An impromptu S&B gathering took place at The Humming Tree, Indaranagar Bangalore which was attended by Ajeesh, Shuchi, Anish (Maddy), Mohsin, Aakash Sridhar (Exa) and self. I for one was surprised on meeting Aakash as he turned out to be younger than Mohsin. Way to go youngsters I'm sure The Hindu Crossword will go a long way with our young setters. Some photographs attached below

Yours truly, Ajeesh, Mohsin, Anish, Aakash, Shuchi

  3. Very nice.
Of these, four I have met.
I have corresponded with Anish by e-mail.
Exa is a co-competitor in a UK-based CWC. His clues as well as mine are often shortlisted.
    Thus I know who's who!

  4. In fact when Ajeesh walked in with Aakash I thought he had brought his kid brother with him! To top it all while leaving after the meet, Aakash addressed me as Uncle !!!

    1. When a person is a grandpa in real life, that self-same person should not have any problem with a young boy or even a pretty girl calling him an 'uncle'.

  8. Thanks for putting these up Sir (better than uncle I think :P) ..
I'm feeling rather shy after this disclosure...
Also, the who's who on 'Mohsin' appears to be missed... unless it's meant to be kept a secret of course

    2. First time someone from the CW world called me Uncle that's why I got tickled. No problems you can address me whichever way you are comfortable. Somehow I thought everyone knew who Mac was.

  11. Nice to see some more names to the faces, cognito or incognito at the impromptu bloggers meet. How come impromptu with six of you? Did ye-all meet their incidentally and decided to have a meet?

Thanks God, he didn't address you as Mama, as here in Coimbatore, even elderly and matronly grandmas call their juniors half their age, as mami ! It is a typical indian culture of youngsters to be civil to their elders. In the US, every one addresses every other person by their first names, which of course, makes for more warmth and personal approach.

    Parva ille Macchaa !!
